The ALLAN onion variety is an early-maturing bulb onion with round bulbs of medium size, weighing from 64 to 125 grams. The dry skins have a yellow color, while the juicy parts are white. The onion has a mild, pleasant taste with a slight sweet note. The bulbs are highly juicy and contain 12.7% dry matter, 9.4% total sugar, and 12.5 mg of ascorbic acid per 100 grams of raw product. From one bulb cluster, two to four bulbs form, which increases the crop yield. The ALLAN variety is intended for fresh consumption and is characterized by high yield, especially in the North Caucasian region, where the average yield reaches 100-250 centners per hectare. The onion matures early — the period from germination to harvest is from 64 to 99 days. Bulb maturity before harvest reaches 75-82%, and after ripening, it reaches 96-100%. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety allows for a fresh harvest by mid-June, which is particularly relevant during the period when last year's reserves run out and the new spring onion has not yet matured. A feature of the variety is the possibility of growing in winter culture with summer seed sowing or autumn planting of sets. Seed sowing is recommended in August-September at a depth of 1.0-1.5 cm using a 30x10 cm or 5x20 cm scheme. Summer sowing requires irrigation, whereas planting sets does not require irrigation. The variety is weakly resistant to powdery mildew, which simplifies care and increases crop stability. ALLAN is an excellent choice for those who value early, juicy, and tasty onions with good storability and high productivity.
