Carrot Flamenko

Technical Profile of 'Flamenco' Carrot

The 'Flamenco' variety by 'Vashe Khozyaystvo' is a specialized solution for growers targeting niche markets, such as bunching production and food processing. Unlike standard cylindrical carrots, 'Flamenco' features a distinctive rounded shape, which necessitates specific agronomic practices to ensure product quality and marketability.

Morphological Features and Growth Cycles

With a vegetation period of 100–110 days, this variety belongs to the mid-season group. The spherical shape of the root requires loose, humus-rich soil, which is a critical factor in preventing deformities. Under standard agronomic conditions, the weight of the root ranges from 100 to 150 grams, making it ideal for the retail bunching segment.

Practical Field Application

• Film-covered sowing: Utilizing protective film in early stages mitigates risks associated with temperature fluctuations. The compact root shape allows for high-density planting schemes, maximizing space efficiency.
• Processing Efficiency: The intense red pigmentation of the skin and flesh makes this variety highly sought after by processing plants that prioritize consistent color intensity in final products.
• Logistics of Bunching: With a weight of 100–120g during the early harvest phase, these carrots are easy to transport and pack, minimizing mechanical damage during harvest operations.

Breeding efforts by OOO 'Vashe Khozyaystvo', led by Andrey Vasilyevich Kudryashov, have resulted in a hybrid with predictable yields. Investing in this variety is highly efficient for producers with established 'field-to-shelf' logistics.
