Onion MUSSEON

Massive Productivity: Musson Onion

A breeding breakthrough from Selektsentr Gavrish, the Musson onion variety occupies a unique niche in professional vegetable growing. Developed in collaboration with leading specialists from the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Crops (VNIIISSOK), this hybrid is focused on producing extremely large bulbs with superior market quality. Its parameters make it ideal for the fresh market, where premium-sized salad onions are in high demand.

Agrotechnical Features and Yield Potential

Musson demonstrates impressive bulb weight, reaching 500–800 grams under favorable conditions. With intensive cultivation technology, the yield exceeds 100 tons per hectare, making it one of the most high-performing solutions in the manufacturer's portfolio. A maturity period of 90–100 days allows for successful cultivation both as an annual crop and in regions with moderate climates.

• Resistance: High immunity to root rot significantly reduces losses during the growing season.
• Appearance: The impeccable spherical shape and pure white color make the product highly attractive for supermarket chains.
• Harvesting: The variety is adapted for manual harvesting, which helps minimize mechanical damage to large bulbs.

Although Musson has a limited storage shelf life (2–3 months), this is compensated for by its excellent taste and market presentation. It is an excellent choice for farmers aiming to sell their produce immediately after harvest, when the demand for large salad onions reaches its peak.
