BRUNGHILDA

BRUNGHILDA is a medium-maturing leek variety intended for cultivation in the Central region. This variety is characterized by a period from full germination to the beginning of commercial readiness of 160-165 days, which allows for a harvest by the autumn collection date. The plant is of medium length with semi-erect leaves, which have a wide leaf blade of gray-green color without anthocyanin. The leaves are located with medium density and covered with a waxy coating of medium intensity, which contributes to protection from unfavorable conditions and improves product preservation.

The blanched part of the leek reaches a length of 16-20 cm with a diameter of 3-3.5 cm, and the mass of the productive part is about 220 grams. The yield of the variety is quite high — up to 2.1 kg per square meter, which makes it attractive for commercial cultivation. The BRUNGHILDA leek is recommended for use both in fresh form and for processing, which expands its possibilities for application in cuisine and the food industry.

The variety was bred by specialists of the Federal Research Center for Vegetable Growing and included in the State Register in 2023. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptation to the conditions of the Central region, BRUNGHILDA represents a reliable choice for farmers and gardeners striving to get a quality and high-yield leek.
