DIVO DIVNOE is a high-yielding and cold-hardy leek variety, characterized by a late maturity period of approximately 175-200 days from germination to harvest. Plants reach heights of up to 60 cm and form powerful cylindrical stems that are 20-25 cm long and 3-4 cm in diameter. Leaves are dark green with a bluish tint, wide, tender, and aromatic, with a slightly sharp taste that gives dishes a pleasant and soft aroma. The mass of one plant can reach 300 grams, indicating the high productivity of the variety.
This leek variety is valued for its excellent taste qualities and high vitamin content. The blanched part of the stem differs in excellent quality and is suitable for fresh consumption as well as long-term storage. Leeks can be used for various culinary purposes: young plants are perfect for fresh salads, while the blanched part can be boiled, frozen, dried, and used in winter for soup seasoning, sauce preparation, and other dishes. All parts of the plant are used without waste, making it especially valuable for home use.
For growing the variety, sowing for seedlings is recommended at the end of February to early March, followed by pricking out and planting in open ground in May according to the 15x20 cm scheme. During growth, hilling to a height of 20-25 cm, regular watering, fertilization, weeding, and soil loosening are required. The harvest is collected at the end of August to September. Leeks store well in a cellar or root cellar in sand-filled boxes in a vertical position for up to 3-4 months, which allows to maintain their freshness and taste qualities for a long time.
