Triada

Sea buckthorn «Triada» – a medium-sized, shrub-like bush with an rounded crown of medium density and semi-vertical branch arrangement, bending under the weight of the harvest. The bark is brown with a gray tint, shoots are straight and of medium thickness. The plant has no thorns, which facilitates berry harvesting and garden work.

The variety's berries are large (about 15 × 11 mm), egg-shaped, yellow-orange, and sweet in taste. The mass of one berry ranges from 1.0 to 1.5 grams, and the pedicel is of medium length – 4–5 mm. The maturation period is early: berries are harvested from early to late August (September-August). Due to large berry size and sweet taste, the «Triada» berry is especially suitable for dessert use, as well as for the production of natural juice and oil.

The variety is distinguished by high yield – the declared data indicates an average yield of 144.3 c/ha. The absence of thorns, early maturation period, and large berry size make it attractive for both gardening and industrial production. Main pests – sea buckthorn fly (approximately 5% damage). The variety was developed in 1999 based on free pollination of the Etna variety, and seeds started to be sown from 2000.
