SPRINT 2 is a mid-early spring oat (Avena sativa L.) variety with a growing period of 74 to 103 days, allowing for successful cultivation in various regions. The plant is of medium height with an erect bush, semi-bent two-sided head, and drooping spikelets. The grain is large and thick-husked, with a 1000-grain weight ranging from 35-46 g and a bulk density of 420-580 g/L, making it particularly valuable for grain-fodder use. The variety boasts high yields—averaging around 4.4 tons/ha, with maximum figures reaching up to 7.16 tons/ha under intensive cultivation.
SPRINT 2 is characterized by high responsiveness to mineral fertilizers, which contributes to achieving maximum productivity. It has medium resistance to lodging, ensuring crop preservation under unfavorable weather conditions. Regarding diseases, the variety is moderately susceptible to powdery mildew and susceptible to stem and crown rusts, which requires timely implementation of protective measures.
This oat variety was developed by the Krasnoufimskaya Breeding Station and included in the State Register of the Russian Federation, confirming its adaptability and reliability. Thanks to the large grain size with a protein content ranging from 9.2% to 14.8%, SPRINT 2 is suitable for use in fodder purposes, ensuring high forage quality. Its characteristics make the variety an attractive choice for agricultural producers focused on stable and high oat yields.
