The spring oats variety 'Stayer' is a medium-late maturing and medium-height grain fodder variety, developed for adaptation to various natural and climatic conditions, in particular the Middle Urals and Pre-Urals. The vegetation period lasts from 78 to 93 days, ensuring timely maturation. The plant is characterized by an intermediate type of bush, a semi-erect two-sided panicle with drooping spikelets and large grains. Leaf sheaths and leaf edges are not hairy, and awniness is weakly expressed. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 37 to 45 grams.
The 'Stayer' variety is distinguished by high resistance to drought, lodging, and shattering, which increases crop stability under unfavorable conditions. However, it is susceptible to powdery bunt and crown rust, which requires attention to agro-technical measures and plant protection. The variety responds well to the use of mineral fertilizers; the recommended sowing rate is 6 million viable seeds per hectare, and the optimal fertilizer dosage is N60P60K60. In case of strong weed infestation, the use of herbicides is recommended, except for amine salt derivatives of 2,4-D.
'Stayer' possesses high grain nutritional value with protein content ranging from 9.9 to 13.9%, making it in demand for grain and grain fodder purposes. The yield of the variety averages 44.2 centners per hectare, while under favorable conditions, maximum figures can reach 85.1 centners per hectare. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, the 'Stayer' variety is a reliable choice for agricultural production in the Central, South-Eastern, and Southern Pre-Urals of the Perm Krai and other regions with similar climatic conditions.
