The Gunther variety differs in its resistance to lodging and drought at the level of standard varieties, which increases its reliability in various growing conditions. However, it is susceptible to certain diseases, such as crown rust and red-purple spotting, and is highly susceptible to powdery scab and bacterial burn. Despite this, the variety is recommended for sowing in various regions due to its agronomic qualities and high grain quality.
