Gourmet F1 Watermelon is an early-maturing hybrid developed by Hollar Seeds (USA), widely popular due to its outstanding flavor and high yield. The vegetative period ranges from 55 to 75 days depending on growing conditions, allowing for an early harvest. Fruits have a small average weight of 1.4 to 1.8 kg, an oval shape approximately 18 by 15 cm, and a creamy-white flesh of medium density with an exceptional aroma. The flesh sugar content reaches 15-17% (Brix), providing exceptional sweetness and rich flavor.
The plant exhibits high adaptability to climatic conditions, heat and drought resistance, as well as resistance to common fungal diseases affecting melon crops, particularly powdery mildew. Thanks to these qualities, the hybrid can yield up to 80 tons per hectare at a planting density of 8 to 10 thousand plants per hectare. Fruits are characterized by high transportability and high commercial yield, making them attractive for commercial cultivation.
It is recommended to harvest Gourmet F1 watermelon immediately upon full ripeness to preserve optimal flavor and better transportability. The hybrid is well-suited for various cultivation technologies and provides a stable, high-quality harvest even under challenging climatic conditions.
