Melon Alcarez

Alcarez F1 watermelon is a mid-season hybrid of the 'Piel de Sapo' variety, developed by the Dutch company Enza Zaden. This hybrid is intended for cultivation in open ground or under plastic coverings, with a vegetative period of 70 to 85 days. The plant features strong, robust growth, good leaf coverage, rapid adaptation to growing conditions, and resistance to stress. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases, including Fom:0,1 and MNSV, as well as moderate resistance to other pathogens, ensuring a stable and high yield. Alcarez watermelon fruits have an oval shape and weigh between 2.5 to 4.5 kg on average. The rind is dark green with slight ridges and netting, while the flesh is snowy white, dense, juicy, and very sweet with sugar content (Brix) ranging from 7 to 13%. The fruit features a small seed cavity and excellent market appearance, making it attractive for marketing and transportation. The flavor of the watermelon becomes more intense and sweeter after brief storage. One of the key advantages of the Alcarez hybrid is its high capacity for long-term storage — fruits retain their flavor and nutritional value for up to six months after harvest. This makes the variety ideal for commercial cultivation and sales over an extended period. Due to its high yield, disease resistance, and excellent taste, Alcarez F1 watermelon is a profitable choice for farmers and gardeners seeking high-quality, long-lasting produce.
