Alcarez F1 watermelon is a mid-season hybrid of the 'Piel de Sapo' variety, developed by the Dutch company Enza Zaden. This hybrid is intended for cultivation in open ground or under plastic coverings, with a vegetative period of 70 to 85 days. The plant features strong, robust growth, good leaf coverage, rapid adaptation to growing conditions, and resistance to stress. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases, including Fom:0,1 and MNSV, as well as moderate resistance to other pathogens, ensuring a stable and high yield. Alcarez watermelon fruits have an oval shape and weigh between 2.5 to 4.5 kg on average. The rind is dark green with slight ridges and netting, while the flesh is snowy white, dense, juicy, and very sweet with sugar content (Brix) ranging from 7 to 13%.
