Melon AL-HALIM

The VNIISSOK Legacy: Al Khalim Melon

The 'Al Khalim' melon represents a key development by the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production (VNIISSOK). Developed for reliable performance in local climatic conditions, it holds a respected position among growers who prioritize consistency and marketable fruit quality.

Agronomic Profile and Market Position

Al Khalim is widely recognized for its robust growth habit, making it a reliable performer in both open field and temporary protected cultivation. Its market relevance is built on a set of core physical characteristics that meet both consumer demand and logistical requirements:

• Fruit Weight: Averaging between 2.0 and 3.0 kg, these melons are sized perfectly for modern retail standards and ease of distribution.
• Internal Quality: The distinct orange flesh color is a defining feature of the cultivar, setting it apart visually and indicating high nutritional value.
• Marketability: Due to the firm texture of the flesh, the fruit possesses excellent transport characteristics, reducing losses during logistics from field to market.

For agricultural producers, Al Khalim serves as a dependable asset. It does not require overly specialized techniques, allowing for a straightforward cultivation cycle. By bridging the gap between rigorous scientific selection and practical farming needs, Al Khalim continues to be a staple choice for those looking for a predictable and productive harvest.
