DICAФ 14 is a variety of narrow-leafed lupin (Lupinus angustifolius L.), specifically developed for fodder purposes. It is characterized by its rapid maturity and high grain yield, reaching up to 3–3.5 tons per hectare, as well as green mass ranging from 35–40 tons per hectare. The variety is known for its good resistance to root rots and low alkaloid content (not exceeding 0.24%), making it safe for feeding livestock.
The crop has a genetically determined limitation of lateral branching, which ensures compact growth and simplifies crop management. Pods of medium size (3 × 4 cm) are arranged alternately in the leaf axils on the central shoot, and the seeds are white with a characteristic brown spot at the hilum. Protein in the grain is 30–35%, making the variety a valuable source of nutrients for livestock.
For optimal development of DICAФ 14, standard agro-technical measures are applied: pre-sowing treatment of seeds with rizotorfin or molybdenum, application of molybdenum-activated superphosphate during sowing, and weed control using simazine or prometryn. Thanks to these measures, a stable yield and high quality of fodder mass are achieved.
