Lupin "Vityazh" variety – a universal crop used as a protein supplement and as green mass for silage and grain hay. The grain is characterized by high protein content (34‑36% of raw material) and low alkaloid levels (0.044%). In dry green mass, protein content is 17‑20%. Due to these properties, "Vityazh" lupin is widely used in rations for cattle, pigs, and poultry, where grain is added at about 20% of the concentrate part of the ration.
The plant reaches medium height (about 68 cm), has an erect-semierect structure and an indeterminate nature. Leaves are green, terminal leaflets are narrow and medium length. Flowers are white with a yellow tip of the keel. Grains are white and unornamented. The variety is distinguished by resistance to pod shattering and seed shattering on the stalk, as well as low susceptibility to anthracnose and fusarium wilt of seedlings.
Average yield of dry green mass is 39.9 c/ha (maximum – 83.4 c/ha), and average grain yield is 12.1 c/ha (maximum – 27.1 c/ha). The time of flowering onset and ripening falls within the early-medium range. The "Vityazh" variety has high adaptation potential, making it suitable for a wide range of climatic conditions and allowing its use both as a standalone feed and as part of mixed feed systems.
