Description TULUN HYBRID ALFALFA
Tulun Hybrid Vicia sativa is a perennial legume crop widely used in agriculture as a forage crop. This alfalfa variety was registered in 1979 and developed by leading scientific centers of the Siberian Federal District. Due to its high productivity and adaptability, it is recommended for cultivation in the Western Siberia regions, including Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk, and Tomsk regions, as well as the Republic of Altai and Tyumen region.

This alfalfa is characterized by high yields of green mass, especially when irrigation is used: with 8-10 cuts from one hectare, one can obtain from 80 to 120 tons of green mass or 20-40 tons of hay. Thanks to symbiotic relationships with nitrogen-fixing root nodule bacteria, Tulun Hybrid alfalfa effectively accumulates atmospheric nitrogen in the roots and soil, contributing to significant soil enrichment. In the second and third year of plant life, the amount of nitrogen returned to the soil is equivalent to that contained in 40-60 tons of manure, reaching up to 300 kg of nitrogen per hectare.

In addition to its forage use, Tulun Hybrid alfalfa is used as a green fertilizer, improving soil structure and reducing its acidity. The plant biomass after decomposition becomes easily digestible organic fertilizer, forming humus and enriching the soil with nutrients. The crop can also be used for decorative purposes and serves as a good predecessor for growing cotton, cereals, and other agricultural crops.
