Lettuce Sunberg

Dutch breeding for greenhouse production

Sandberg lettuce from the Dutch company Enza Zaden is a choice for professional greenhouse farms focused on high-density, uniform heads. Officially registered in Ukraine in 2026, this variety demonstrates stable performance in protected cultivation environments.

Key features of structure and appearance

Sandberg stands out among competitors due to its architecture. The plant forms a medium-sized, round head with strong overlapping of the upper leaves, ensuring excellent product density. The leaves are round with smooth edges and no anthocyanin coloration, guaranteeing the clean, vibrant green color highly valued in the fresh produce market.

• Leaf structure: The leaves are thick with moderate blistering and medium-sized bubbles, giving the lettuce an attractive market appearance.
• Efficiency: The semi-erect position of the leaves at the 10-12 leaf stage and at harvest time simplifies maintenance and cutting processes.
• Gloss: The moderate glossiness of the upper leaf surface makes the product look fresh without creating an artificial, plastic-like shine.

The absence of anthocyanin and stable green pigmentation make this variety predictable to grow. Due to the dense head structure, Sandberg handles transportation well, maintaining its marketability until the point of sale. It is a reliable tool for producers who prioritize consistent results and high quality in every head.
