Lettuce Giralda

A Butterhead Standard for Greenhouse Production

"Giralda" from Enza Zaden is a butterhead lettuce variety that sets new standards for density and marketability in the greenhouse segment. Unlike many market alternatives, this variety forms a very dense, large, round head, making it an ideal choice for professional greenhouse operations targeting the premium market.

Key Vegetation Features

The variety demonstrates excellent uniformity at the seedling stage: medium-sized elliptical cotyledons and the absence of anthocyanin coloration indicate genetic purity. At the 10–12 leaf stage, the plant maintains a semi-upright position, which facilitates maintenance and ventilation within the greenhouse. The leaf blade is thick, deep green, with moderate blistering and low glossiness, giving the lettuce an appetizing, fresh appearance.

Why Choose "Giralda"?

• High Marketability: Very strong overlapping of the upper leaves ensures the formation of heavy, dense heads that withstand transportation exceptionally well.
• Technological Efficiency: The variety is predictable in cultivation, possessing a stable shape and resistance to the stress factors of greenhouse environments.
• Leaf Quality: The thick, round leaf without anthocyanin retains its freshness and attractive appearance long after harvest.

This variety is the choice for those who value predictable results and high product quality. "Giralda" is perfectly suited for supermarket chains, where both aesthetics and head density are crucial for maintaining product integrity on the shelf.
