Lettuce Hydrolique

Dutch breeding for professional greenhouses

The 'Hydrolik' lettuce variety is the result of extensive research by the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan, a global leader in vegetable breeding. Its introduction to the Ukrainian market in 2026 marks a significant step in upgrading the greenhouse assortment, specifically tailored for professional cultivation in controlled environments.

Origin and Status

Unlike many modern hybrids, 'Hydrolik' is a population variety. This means that Rijk Zwaan breeders focused on the stability of genetic traits, allowing the plant to deliver predictable results when grown hydroponically. Officially registered in Ukraine in 2026, the variety demonstrates high adaptability to local climatic zones and meets the rigorous quality standards established within the European agricultural sector.

Position in the Production Chain

Choosing 'Hydrolik' is driven by the producer's need for uniform produce that fits perfectly into automated packaging lines. As the variety is owned by Rijk Zwaan, farmers gain access to genetic material that has undergone strict selection in Dutch laboratories. Within the lettuce category, this variety occupies a niche as a professional solution for year-round production, where predictable growth rates and the aesthetic quality of the rosette are paramount.
