Lettuce Exmoss

Dutch Breeding Excellence

The 'Exmoss' lettuce variety is the result of extensive research by Rijk Zwaan, a global leader in vegetable breeding. Officially registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2026, this variety demonstrates high adaptability to local climatic conditions and meets rigorous quality standards. Its Dutch origin ensures a professional approach to genetics, with Rijk Zwaan's breeding programs traditionally focused on yield stability and resilience against environmental stressors.

Morphological Characteristics

According to UPOV data, 'Exmoss' stands out for its specific structural traits. It is a plant with a compact diameter and semi-erect leaf positioning at the 10-12 leaf stage. The leaf blade is characterized by a thin texture and a complete absence of anthocyanin, resulting in a pure green color with very high pigmentation intensity. The divided leaf type provides a commercial appearance highly valued in the fresh produce market.

Role in Modern Agriculture

The inclusion of this variety in the 2026 registry opens new opportunities for Ukrainian growers. 'Exmoss' is positioned as a reliable solution for those seeking predictability in production. Thanks to its Dutch genetic background, the variety maintains excellent performance, keeping its shape and color stability throughout the growing cycle. The lack of anthocyanin makes it a versatile choice for markets demanding a classic, deep-green lettuce without reddish undertones.
