Lipton Early Green Pea — an ultra-early variety developed by Hazera from the Netherlands, intended for direct sowing in open ground. The plant reaches an average height of about 65 cm, has moderate leafiness and balanced structure. The variety is characterized by high resistance to adverse weather conditions as well as to diseases such as chlorosis and Fusarium wilt (Fop1). The maturation period is 40-50 days, allowing its use in spring and summer rotations.
Lipton pea pods have a vibrant green color and excellent flavor. Each 8-9 cm long pod contains 7-8 uniformly sized peas with a tender texture and pleasant sweet taste. Two to three pods form per node, and approximately 9 nodes develop before the first flower appears. Thanks to these characteristics, the yield has excellent market appearance and is suitable both for fresh market and processing.
Harvested Lipton peas do not overripe and retain freshness for a long time, making them versatile for various uses: fresh consumption, freezing, canning, and thermal processing. The recommended planting rate is 2-3 kg per 100 m², and the thermal units required for maturation are approximately 670 °C. This variety is ideal for both manual and mechanical harvesting, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield.
