Aficion lettuce is an ultra-early leaf lettuce of the Batavia type, developed by the breeding company Rijk Zwaan. This hybrid is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 15 tons per hectare under proper care and planting density of 12 plants per square meter. The vegetative period is approximately 30 days after transplanting, allowing for early and stable harvests. The plant is adapted to various growing conditions: it can be sown in open ground from mid-March to September, and also grown in greenhouses or hydroponically.
The leaves of Aficion lettuce have an attractive light green color and a sufficiently dense structure with slight waviness. The leaf rosette is slightly elongated, and the weight of one plant can reach 500 grams. Due to its plasticity and resistance to temperature fluctuations, the lettuce tolerates transportation and long-term storage under warehouse conditions, making it popular in the fresh vegetable market. The hybrid also exhibits high resistance to typical lettuce diseases and has a prolonged flowering period, extending its usability.
To achieve maximum yield, the lettuce requires regular, regulated watering, hoeing, and soil loosening. It adapts well to various soils and climatic conditions, making it popular among farmers. Thanks to its qualities and versatility, Aficion lettuce is suitable for both industrial cultivation and use in salad lines, ensuring consistent quality and appealing product appearance.
