Vegetable Pea SAKHARNY DRUZHOK

Early Harvest Strategy for Vegetable Peas

The «Sakharny Druzhok» variety, developed by the Gavrish breeding firm, is an efficient choice for producers focusing on early market entry. With a growing season of just 50–60 days, this variety fits perfectly into short-cycle crop rotation plans, allowing for rapid land turnover and maximizing annual productivity.

Practical Cultivation and Field Performance

• Large-Seeded Advantage: The variety produces large, high-quality peas, which are preferred by fresh market consumers. This size profile ensures a favorable commercial yield and higher output per hectare during harvest.
• Field Operations: The crop performs best when sown in well-prepared, aerated soil. To ensure optimal performance and minimize lodging, farmers should maintain consistent spacing, which supports efficient mechanical harvesting operations.
• Irrigation and Management: While the variety is robust, maintaining adequate soil moisture during the flowering and pod-filling stages is critical for achieving the high-quality, succulent grain that defines this specific cultivar.

For growers selecting the Gavrish «Sakharny Druzhok», the primary benefit is consistency. It is a predictable variety that delivers a reliable, early-maturing harvest, making it a staple for both intensive commercial farming and smaller vegetable production operations.
