Lettuce Akane

Akane lettuce is a Lollo Rossa-type leaf lettuce with a rich red leaf coloration. This variety is characterized by intense and even coloration, giving the lettuce an attractive appearance. The leaves are wavy and form a well-defined rosette, facilitating harvest and use in salad mixes. Akane can be grown both outdoors and in greenhouses, enabling harvests throughout various seasons — spring, early summer, summer, and autumn.

The variety is produced by Enza Zaden from the Netherlands. Akane lettuce seeds are supplied in packages of 1000 and 5000 seeds and are typically sown in seedling trays. The plant is distinguished by its robustness and resistance to diseases, including Bl (with a resistance range of 16-41 on the European scale), Nr:0, and TBSV. Additionally, the lettuce does not bolt, ensuring consistent quality and a prolonged harvest period.

Akane lettuce is intended for the fresh market and is widely used in salad mixes due to its flavor qualities and decorative appearance. Its disease resistance and adaptability to various growing conditions make this variety a profitable choice for farmers and gardeners seeking high-quality and attractive produce.
