Glazurna

The potato variety Glazurna is a mid-season table variety with a vegetation period of about 90-115 days, allowing it to be grown under various climatic conditions, including the forest-steppe zone and Polissia. This variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 34-48 tons per hectare, and can produce up to two harvests per season when modern irrigation technologies are used. Plants are strong-growing, forming 8 to 13 oval-shaped tubers, with an average weight of 80-140 grams, white skin, and creamy flesh, ensuring an attractive appearance and good taste.

Glazurna has a medium starch content ranging from 15.7-17.3%, making it versatile for various culinary preparations. Tubers are suitable for boiling, stewing, baking, making soups and borscht, as well as frying to achieve a crispy crust. High skin density and good storability (at least 90%) ensure excellent preservation and transportability of the harvest, which is especially important for mechanized harvesting and winter storage.

The variety is resistant to major potato diseases such as late blight, scab, and nematodosis, reducing the need for intensive chemical protection and enhancing ecological cultivation. Glazurna is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including Polissia, and is a product of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, registered in 2010. Due to its qualities and adaptability, this variety is popular among agronomists and farmers aiming to achieve a stable and high-quality harvest.
