SELVAGGIJA

Selvaggija – a one-year-old rocket variety Indau, intended for growing in garden and vegetable plot conditions and use in salads, sides for meat and fish dishes. Leaves are small, green, smooth, strongly cut, with an oblong shape and a notched-toothed edge. Flowers are light yellow, and the plant mass is about 20 g.

The period from full germination to the beginning of economic maturity is approximately 50 days, while the yield of greens reaches 2.0 kg/m². To obtain more lush and tasty greens, rocket prefers light fertile soil with neutral or slightly acidic pH; in acidic soils, liming is required. Rocket «Indau» requires regular watering – with a lack of moisture, leaves become coarse and start to become bitter, while excessive heat leads to a rapid transition of plants to the bolting state.

Harvest is collected 25 to 35 days after germination; early cutting preserves a delicate taste, while delay leads to deterioration of taste qualities. Seeds are packed in 0.5 g and have high viability until 2027. They are suitable for growing in open ground from April to mid-August, at a sowing depth of 1–1.5 cm and a distance between rows of 30–40 cm. Regular cutting allows obtaining fresh greens with a mustard-nut-pepper taste and rich antibacterial activity.
