Premium Eruca Sativa: Efficiency in Every Harvest

For growers focused on the fresh-cut market and professional salad production, the choice of genetics is the single most important factor for profitability. The 'Coltivata' variety from Enza Limited, developed by Enza Zaden Beheer B.V., stands out as a top-tier choice for those who value consistency. From a management perspective, this variety eliminates the typical unpredictability associated with leafy greens, ensuring uniform growth cycles across the entire field.

Cultivation and Field Performance

Operating with 'Coltivata' is a streamlined experience. The plant exhibits a robust, upright growth habit, which is essential for mechanized harvesting operations. By minimizing lodging and ensuring a dense, manageable rosette, this variety significantly reduces labor costs during the cutting phase. The leaves maintain a vibrant, dark green hue that withstands various climate fluctuations, ensuring that the final produce remains attractive to retailers and consumers alike.

Key Operational Advantages

• Consistency: The uniformity of maturation allows for precise scheduling of harvest cycles, critical for high-turnover operations.
• Post-Harvest Quality: 'Coltivata' shows exceptional shelf-life properties, reducing shrinkage during transportation and storage.
• Ease of Management: The plant is highly responsive to standard fertilization and irrigation protocols, making it a low-risk, high-reward option for commercial farms.
