Description RUBINOVY MAGARACHA
Rubinovy Magaracha is a universal technical grape variety of late ripening, obtained as a result of crossing Cabernet Sauvignon and Saperavi varieties. The plant is characterized by high growth vigor and good vine ripeness (80-90%). The period from bud break to the technical maturity of berries lasts about 169 days, and ripening occurs in the first decade of October. The variety is distinguished by moderate resistance to frosts down to -23°C, which is comparable with the parent forms, as well as good drought tolerance. Grape prefers light, fertile soils and suitable for various bush formations, including low-stumped and high-stumped.

Grapes of Rubinovy Magaracha are cylindrical-conical in shape, medium size — about 15 cm long and 12 cm wide, branched, loose and moderately dense, with a weight of about 133 g. Berries are medium sized, round or slightly oval, dark blue color with thick pruin. The skin of the berries is thick and firm, the pulp is juicy, the juice is colorless. The taste is characterized by the presence of solanaceous tones. Each berry contains 2-3 seeds. The variety accumulates sugar well, the average sugar content is 19-24.5 g/100 ml, acidity — 5.3-9 g/l. Grapes contain about 96.5% berries and 3.5% ridges, juice yield reaches 71.2%.

Rubinovy Magaracha is used for the production of high-quality red table and dessert wines, as well as blending wine materials and juices. In addition, grapes are eaten fresh. Average pruning of vines to fruiting with leaving of 6-8 eyes is recommended. The variety is moderately affected by mildew and gray rot of berries, slightly — oidium, and also susceptible to damage by spider mites. Due to its characteristics and yield quality, Rubinovy Magaracha is a valuable grape variety for viticulture and winemaking.
