Platovskiy is a technical grape variety with an early ripening period, maturing within 110-115 days. The plant exhibits medium growth vigor, and rooted plantings have a medium-height structure. Bunches are cylindrical-conical in shape, of medium size, weighing about 200-280 g, and moderately dense. Berries are medium-sized, round, white in color with a slight pink blush on the sun-exposed side, weighing about 2 g. The skin is thin but tough, the pulp is juicy, and the taste is harmonious. Sugar content reaches 20.2%, acidity is 8.9 g/l, ensuring high-quality wine material. The variety is distinguished by good frost resistance up to -29°C and resistance to major grape diseases: downy mildew, powdery mildew, phylloxera, and gray rot at a level of 2-3 points. Shoot ripening is satisfactory — up to 80%, bearing shoots account for about 85%, with 1.3 bunches per shoot. A recommended loading is 60-80 buds per bush with a fruiting cane pruning length of 3-4 buds. To enhance harvest quality, it is mandatory to remove suckers, sterile and weakly developed shoots, as well as remove leaves covering the bunches, which facilitates faster sugar accumulation. Platovskiy is widely used in winemaking for producing table and dessert wines. The harvest can be kept on the bush for a month after ripening without quality loss. The sensory evaluation of dry table wine from this variety is 8.4 points, confirming its high taste qualities and potential for creating quality wine products. The recommended rootstock for planting is Cobert 5BB.
