Kubanets is a late-ripening technical grape variety intended for the production of high-quality wines. The bushes are characterized by vigorous shoot growth, while the leaves are large or medium-sized, dark green, smooth and glossy, with a five-lobed shape and medium lobing. The lower leaf surface is covered with moderately hairy pubescence. The clusters are conical in shape, of medium size, weighing about 240-267 g, and are loose or dense. The berries are medium-sized, round, dark blue with firm skin and juicy pulp. The juice is uncolored, with sugar content of about 17-17.6% and acidity of 7.4-9 g/L. The variety differs in resistance to phylloxera and fungal diseases, as well as frost resistance at the level of the parent variety Krasnostop Anapsky. The fruiting coefficient is approximately 1.2. Yield varies from 100 to 168 c/ha, which corresponds to 10-12 t/ha. Grapes are grown on cordon training systems with a trunk height of 80-100 cm, with free drooping of shoots and short pruning of fruiting canes to 3-4 buds, with a load of 45-50 shoots. Wines from the Kubanets variety are characterized by intense color and refreshing taste, receiving tasting scores from 8.4 to 8.9 points. The high quality of wines is due to the balanced content of sugar and acidity in the berries, which makes this variety in demand for the production of dry wines with pronounced taste characteristics.
