Autumn variety developed by the Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K. A. Timiryazev. Obtained by crossing the varieties Toma and Lesnaya Krasavitsa. Breeders: S. T. Chizhov, S. P. Potapov, N. V. Agafonov, A. V. Isachkin, A. G. Matushkin, V. I. Susov, I. I. Khanzhyan. Approved for cultivation in the Central region. Widely grown in the Moscow region.
Medium-growing tree, with a rounded-oval, sparse crown. Strong bud dormancy, weak vegetative branching. Bears fruit mainly on young spurs.
Branches are curved, greenish-brown, with dark purple shading. Buds are few, medium to larger size, elongated. Buds are short-conical, semi-pressed. Leaves are medium-sized, inversely egg-shaped, with finely toothed margins and single teeth. Petiole length and thickness are medium, stipules are small.
Fruits are medium-sized (mass 120 g), mostly round (rarely flat-round or broad-oval), fruit shape index 0.92. Fruit surface is smooth and glossy. Skin is medium-thick and medium-density. Main color is light-yellow, with no surface coloration, or occasionally a weak, diffuse red blush on some fruits. Subcutaneous dots are small and numerous. Calyx is semi-open. Peduncle is short and thick.
Flesh is beige-white, medium density, juicy, slightly oily, with good sweet taste and strong nutmeg aroma. Fruit attractiveness and taste are rated on average 4.1 points. Chemical composition of fruits: 13.7% dry matter, 7.5% total sugars, 0.15% total acids.
Fruits in Moscow reach harvest maturity in early third decade of August, requiring brief ripening. Fruit consumption period: late August – early September, storage in refrigerator up to 2 months.
Early-bearing variety. Grafted plants begin fruiting on 3-4th year. Fruit production is abundant and sharply periodic.
Winter hardiness of the tree is high; minor damage was observed during severe winter 1986/87. Highly resistant to scab and fruit rot.
Advantages of the variety: high winter hardiness, high resistance to diseases, early fruiting, high yield, good fruit quality.
Disadvantages of the variety: pronounced periodic fruiting, fruit drop during ripening, weak surface coloration of fruits.
