Gladiolus variety Sokolniki is an exquisite representative of the orange group, created by breeder Andrei Nikolaevich Gromov. The flowers of this gladiolus are distinguished by a soft orange hue with peach-apricot tones, imparting them special softness and attractiveness. A small cherry spot is noticeable on the lower petal, serving as a unique decorative detail. The petals have a durable silky-waxy texture and a large wavy pleating with deep creases, giving the flower expressiveness and volume.
The inflorescence of the Gladiolus Sokolniki is ideally two-rowed, with a dense and neat arrangement of flowers, which emphasizes its aesthetic completion. The plant is powerful and capable of holding up to 12 open flowers simultaneously, making it an effective element in the garden or floral composition. The flower size reaches 14 cm, and the bulbs have a size of 10/12, indicating a good potential for growth and development.
This variety deservedly received recognition at exhibitions: it was a diploma winner at the Moscow exhibition from 1996 to 1999 and became the champion of the Riga exhibition. According to the results of surveys in 1999-2000, the Gladiolus Sokolniki was recognized as the best among orange varieties, confirming its high decorative qualities and popularity among flower growers.
