Eggplant Zabava

Field Performance and Cultivation

The 'Zabava' eggplant is a reliable variety developed by the IPOiB UAAS, specifically optimized for open-field cultivation. As a grower, you will find its maturation timeline of 90-100 days (from seedling transplant) to be highly predictable, allowing for efficient management of your seasonal schedule. It is well-adapted to local soil and environmental conditions, reducing the need for aggressive chemical interventions.

Crop Specifications

• Fruit Weight: 200–300 grams. This uniform weight range is ideal for logistics and retail handling.
• Color: White. This distinct appearance distinguishes 'Zabava' in the market, offering high demand for gourmet and home-cooking segments.
• Yield Quality: The absence of bitterness makes it a preferred choice for processors and fresh market buyers alike.

Operational Recommendations

To maximize your return, pay close attention to plant support. As the fruits reach their peak mass of 300 grams, proper trellising becomes essential to prevent stem breakage and crop loss. 'Zabava' exhibits robust growth characteristics that simplify routine maintenance, such as pruning and shaping. Because it is a product of Ukrainian selection, it has proven its resilience in open-field conditions, maintaining consistent fruit set even when weather conditions fluctuate slightly. This is an efficient variety for those who value low-maintenance yet high-quality production.
