Eggplant SEDJIN

Genetic Potential and Agronomics

Sedjin by Yuksel Tohum A.S. is a high-yield eggplant hybrid engineered for open-field cultivation. The core selection strategy focuses on crop health: built-in genetic resistance to Verticillium wilt (Verticillium dahliae) effectively reduces the need for heavy fungicide applications, securing yield in fields with high pathogen pressure.

Fruit Morphology and Marketability

The technical specifications of the fruit are optimized for modern retail standards. The cylindrical shape, reaching 12–25 cm in length and weighing between 200–300 grams, ensures excellent uniformity for packaging. The deep dark-purple skin contrasts with firm white flesh, indicating superior organoleptic properties. With a maturity window of 90–100 days from transplanting, producers can achieve predictable harvest cycles even in varying climatic conditions.

Practical Advantages

• Phytosanitary Defense: Resistance to Verticillium eliminates the risk of premature plant collapse during the peak of the season.
• Consistent Geometry: The cylindrical form minimizes non-standard output during logistics and retail display.
• Environmental Adaptability: Designed specifically for open-field conditions, the hybrid maintains fruit quality despite direct solar radiation and humidity fluctuations.
