Maize Jokari CS

Corn hybrid Jokari CS is a three-line hybrid included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region for grain production. The plant is of medium height with narrow or medium-width leaves, slightly curved, and ears of medium length and thickness with a weakly conical shape. The grain is intermediate type, closer to silken, with yellow-orange coloration in the upper part. The vegetation period is medium-early, allowing effective use of the hybrid under the agroclimatic conditions of the region. A feature of the hybrid is the early-to-medium flowering period of the tassel and weak anthocyanic coloring of various plant parts, including roots, glumes, and silk. The tassel has medium density with a main axis exceeding the upper lateral branch and a small number of primary lateral branches of medium length. These morphological characteristics contribute to good ventilation and reduce disease risk. Jokari CS demonstrates high grain yield — average yield is 76.8 c/ha, which is 6.5% higher than the standard, and maximum yield reached 136 c/ha. Grain moisture at harvest averages 24.7%, which is 2.4% lower than the standard, facilitating storage and processing. The hybrid is resistant to southern helminthosporiosis, weakly affected by common smut, and exhibits increased resistance to ear bacteryiosis and fusarium. It is moderately damaged by corn borer, requiring pest control during vegetation.
