PTEROX — this is a medium-early simple two-row corn hybrid (Zea mays L.) developed by the company RAGT. It is intended for grain production and is included in the State Register for the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, and West Siberian regions. The hybrid's vegetation period is approximately 109 days, corresponding to the level of medium-early varieties with a maturity group of FAO 230. Plants reach a height of 190-210 cm, have a medium ear length with a short stalk, and produce yellow, flinty, dent-type kernels weighing 310-330 g per 1000 kernels. The harvest moisture content of the grain is approximately 27.8%, which is 1% lower than the standard. The PTEROX hybrid is characterized by high yield and resistance to adverse conditions. Average yields in cultivation regions reach 46.2 centners per hectare, with individual farms recording up to 87.3 centners per hectare. One of the key advantages of the hybrid is its high drought resistance and excellent growth dynamics, allowing successful cultivation under various climatic conditions. Additionally, PTEROX is resistant to lodging, which contributes to maintaining grain quality. Special attention has been given to the hybrid’s disease resistance. PTEROX demonstrates high resistance to such diseases as common rust, stalk rot, southern gummy mold, and bacterial blight, with stalk rot on ears noted as mild. The hybrid’s grain is of high quality and suitable for producing grits, expanding its application in the food industry.
