Field Reliability: Personal Experience with the «Telari» Hybrid

When selecting corn for grain or silage, the goal is always finding that sweet spot between yield potential and plant resilience. The «Telari» hybrid from Monsanto entered my crop rotation as an all-in-one solution. What immediately stands out is the consistency; over a 120–140 day maturity cycle, the crop shows excellent uniformity, which makes combine harvesting much smoother.

Agronomic Traits and Field Tolerance

Every agronomist’s nightmare is disease pressure wiping out profits before harvest. Under my field conditions, this hybrid demonstrated impressive tolerance to root and stalk rots, as well as common smut. It is a relief that «Telari» does not require complex chemical interventions to fend off helminthosporiosis or fusarium; the plant’s natural immunity is robust, which ultimately saves on fungicide costs.

When planted at high densities (70–80k/ha) on productive soil, «Telari» produces an excellent volume for silage, while at lower densities, it shows great grain filling.
