Description SY MARIMBA
Syngenta's SY Marimba hybrid corn is a mid-early, high-yielding variety intended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Northern Steppe regions of Ukraine. This hybrid is characterized by high cold tolerance and adaptability, allowing successful cultivation even under stressful climatic conditions. Kernel type is dent, with starch content ranging from 72–75%, making it optimal for grain production. The FAO maturity group is 240, corresponding to a mid-early maturation period. SY Marimba features an erect leaf arrangement and rapid development initiation at soil temperatures of +6...8°C, contributing to early harvest and high return on fertilizer investment.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to stalk and root lodging, significantly reducing grain losses during mechanized harvesting. Additionally, it demonstrates high tolerance to major diseases such as ear fusarium, powdery mildew, root and stalk rots. Seeds are treated with modern products VIBRAN and FORS ZEA, providing protection against rhizoctonia, soil and above-ground pests, and stimulating the development of a strong root system. Thanks to the Stay Green effect, it ensures an extended grain-filling period, enhancing yield and product quality.

Seeding density recommendations depend on moisture availability: under adequate moisture, optimal density is 60–70 thousand plants per hectare; under limited moisture, 50–60 thousand plants per hectare. The hybrid responds well to high fertility and is suitable for conventional cultivation with irrigation potential. Its large, multi-row ear with a slender stalk and high adaptability make SY Marimba a profitable choice for farmers seeking stable, high yields of grain under various climatic conditions.
