Description SY Aladium
The SY Aladium corn hybrid from Syngenta is a medium-early variety designed for cultivation in the Forest Steppe and Northern Steppe regions of Ukraine. This hybrid is distinguished by its high drought and frost resistance, ensuring stable yields even under adverse climatic conditions. SY Aladium is suitable for both grain and silage purposes, demonstrating high yield potential — up to 14-15 tons of grain and 7-8.5 tons of silage per hectare. The grain is dent-type with 72-74% starch content, and the average number of rows per ear is 14-18. The FAO maturity group is 280, corresponding to the medium-early maturity group.

The plant exhibits rapid early development and efficient photosynthetic activity due to its erectoid leaf arrangement and tendency to tillering under favorable conditions. The hybrid shows high grain moisture loss at maturity, facilitating harvest and reducing losses. SY Aladium is adapted to various cultivation technologies, including conventional, minimal, zero-tillage, and irrigation, and allows for repeated planting on the same field without productivity loss.

SY Aladium has high resistance to major corn diseases such as common rust, ear fusarium, and gummy ear blight, as well as root and stalk rot. The hybrid is highly drought-tolerant and lodging-resistant, making it a reliable choice for farmers. Recommended planting density varies depending on water availability: 40-50 thousand plants per hectare under low moisture conditions and 60-70 thousand under adequate moisture. Optimal planting dates are early, when soil temperature is +9...+12 °C, promoting rapid and uniform plant development.
