Corn SY Fenomen is a mid-early dent hybrid with an FAO index of 220, developed by Syngenta. This hybrid stands out for its high yield potential due to its large, multi-row ear and slender stalk, as well as its drought tolerance and rapid moisture release during grain maturation. The grain contains 72–74% starch, making it valuable for both grain production and silage use. Plants have erect leaf arrangement and the Stay Green type, ensuring high-quality animal feed and efficient photosynthesis throughout the growing season.
The SY Fenomen hybrid features a highly adaptive type with Artesian® technology, enhancing water use under stress conditions, which is especially important when grown in areas with insufficient moisture. It demonstrates resistance to root and stalk rot, ear rot, and blister rust, as well as good cold tolerance and rapid early growth. Thanks to these qualities, SY Fenomen consistently shows high yields under various climatic conditions, including the Polissia region, forest-steppe, and northern areas of the steppe.
Recommended cultivation practices include sowing at early dates when soil temperature is +6...8°C, with seed depth. The hybrid is suitable for monoculture and is recommended for harvest at optimal early dates. Recommended plant density at harvest depends on moisture levels: 70–80 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture, 60–70 thousand under unstable conditions, and 45–55 thousand under insufficient moisture. These features make SY Fenomen a versatile and reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high-quality, stable corn yields.
