Variety-defining characteristics. Variety dentate (ssp. indentata). Plant height 270-280 cm. Ear attachment height 90-95 cm. Leaf number 18-19. Ear length 24-26 cm. Row of kernels 18. Kernel yield 84-85%. Ear stalk red. 1000 kernel weight 310-315 g.
Biological characteristics. Maturity group Medium-maturing FAO 320. Duration from emergence to full maturity 117-120 days. Initial growth rapid. Cold resistance high. Drought resistance high. Resistance to lodging high. Resistance to ear drooping high. Resistance to gray smut high. Resistance to southern rust high. Resistance to stalk rot high. Resistance to corn borer high.
Agronomic characteristics. Potential grain yield 12.0-12.5 t/ha. Recommended planting density for Steppe 45-50 thousand/ha and for Forest-Steppe 60-65 thousand/ha. Harvest moisture 24-25%. Potential green mass yield 50.0-52.0 t/ha. Dry matter content in green mass 32-33%. Protein content in grain 10.3-10.7%. Starch content 74.2-76.1%.
Hybrid seed production is conducted on sterile M-type basis using complete restoration scheme without panicle abortion. Sterility of maternal form 99-100%. Optimal planting scheme of parental forms on hybridization plots 6:2. Seed plots require high level of agronomy, weed control and nutrient conditions. Seed yield under favorable conditions 1.8-2.0 t/ha.
