Description Kalis
Kalis is a mid-season hybrid of maize (Zea mays L.) with FAO 330, included in the State Register for the North Caucasus region. The plant is characterized by medium height and a specific ear shape: the angle between the main axis and side branches is average, with side branches slightly curved and in small quantity. The main ear axis is long and higher than the upper side branch. The ear is long, with dent-shaped kernels having yellow coloring on the upper part, and the ear stalk is colored. The intensity of anthocyanin coloring of the silk varies from very weak to weak. Average grain yield is about 50.9 centners per hectare, corresponding to standard levels. The hybrid shows resistance to southern helminthosporiosis and bacterial disease, as well as mild to moderate infection by Fusarium ear rot. Damage by corn stem borer is assessed as moderate, indicating good adaptation to cultivation conditions in the region. Maize Kalis is grown in open fields and intended for grain production, suitable for various industries including feed and food production. Kernels have yellow coloring, typical for this hybrid. Due to its agronomic characteristics and disease resistance, Kalis represents a reliable choice for farmers aiming for stable yields and product quality.
