Maize P9985

The R9985 (P9985) corn hybrid from Pioneer is a mid-late dent type with FAO 370, developed using Optimum AQUAmax technology for maximum efficiency in utilizing available moisture. The plant is tall with optimal ear attachment, ensuring high resistance to stalk and root lodging. The hybrid features good early development and tolerance to Helminthosporium, as well as high resistance to stalk rot diseases, contributing to stable yields even under challenging growing conditions.

R9985 is suitable for grain and ethanol production, demonstrating excellent water use efficiency and drought tolerance. It is well-suited for monoculture and minimum tillage systems, but is not recommended for late harvest or early planting. For optimal results, herbicides should be applied post-emergence according to crop development stages, avoiding overcrowding and late harvest.

This hybrid is part of Pioneer’s updated corn portfolio, designed for farmers seeking efficient and profitable operations. Thanks to its characteristics, R9985 is suitable for cultivation in various climatic zones and can meet even the most demanding producers’ requirements, especially when irrigation systems are available. Thus, R9985 is a reliable choice for those seeking a high-yielding and resilient corn hybrid.
