Maize DN Hortitsia

Reliability of Ukrainian Breeding

The "DN Khortytsia" hybrid is the result of long-term research by the Institute of Grain Crops of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. Amidst climate change and unpredictable moisture levels characteristic of Ukraine's steppe regions, this simple hybrid has established itself as a reliable choice for achieving stable grain yields.

Agronomic Profile and Resilience

This model is designed for intensive grain production. Its core value lies in its genetic resistance to the most common pathogens that annually threaten the profitability of corn fields:

• Strong resistance barrier against Fusarium.
• Resistance to common smut, ensuring cob integrity.
• Genetically determined defense against stalk rot, minimizing the risk of lodging during late harvesting.

Technical Specifications

The grain type is dent, which ensures excellent moisture release during maturation, allowing farmers to reduce post-harvest drying costs. With a FAO range of 90–1240, the hybrid offers a flexible solution across various agro-climatic zones of Ukraine. "DN Khortytsia" is a choice for farmers who prioritize locally adapted genetics, ensuring predictable performance when optimal cultivation technologies are applied.
