Description DN Sterkh
DN Sterkh — this is a medium-early homeostatic hybrid of sweet corn with FAO 230, developed for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones. The plant reaches a height of 220–230 cm, does not bush, and the ear attachment height is 85–95 cm. The ear is cylindrical, 21–23 cm long, with 14–16 rows of kernels. The kernels are yellow-orange, dent-shaped, with a kernel yield of 81–82% and a 1000-kernel weight of 280–290 g. The hybrid is characterized by high cold resistance, rapid kernel moisture loss, resistance to lodging, as well as resistance to major diseases and pests. The recommended pre-harvest planting density is 80,000 plants per hectare in steppe zones and 90,000 plants per hectare in forest-steppe zones. The average yield of the hybrid in ecological trials from 2017–2019 ranged from 7.14 to 8.43 t/ha, with a maximum yield reaching 12.87 t/ha. Due to its drought and heat resistance, DN Sterkh is an optimal choice for cultivation under stressful conditions, including herbicide application. The hybrid is intended for producing high-quality sweet corn kernels suitable for the food industry. Its characteristics ensure a stable and high yield, making it attractive for farmers focused on efficient corn production under various climatic conditions.
