DM Liberty

DM Liberty is a simple modified mid-early hybrid corn, developed by the Ukrainian agrocompany MAIS. It is intended for grain production and is characterized by high adaptability to various climatic conditions, including stressful ones. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppe zones of Ukraine, with an FAO index of 220 and a vegetation period ranging from 97 to 109 days depending on the region. The yield potential ranges from 101 to 131 centners per hectare, which corresponds to approximately 15.9 tons per hectare under favorable conditions. DM Liberty plants have a medium height of approximately 190–225 cm, and the ear attachment height is 75–85 cm. Conical-cylindrical ears contain 14–16 rows of dent corn kernels with a rich yellow color. The hybrid is characterized by high cold tolerance, allowing sowing at soil temperatures of 10–12ºC, as well as enhanced growth energy in early development stages. The grain moisture content at maturity is medium, and the Stay Green effect ensures prolonged retention of green plant mass. DM Liberty is distinguished by high drought tolerance, heat resistance, and resistance to lodging. The hybrid has good resistance to major corn diseases, such as gray and dusty smut, helminthosporiosis, as well as to pests, particularly the corn borer. It is suitable for both intensive cultivation methods with fertilizer application and minimal soil treatment methods, making it a versatile choice for various agricultural enterprises in the grain complex.
