Description DN Stride
DN Stride is a simple mid-early hybrid corn for grain, with FAO 230, developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAN of Ukraine and registered in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register since 2020. The plant reaches a height of 220-230 cm, does not bush, and the ear attachment height is 85-95 cm. The ear is cylindrical, up to 21-23 cm long, with 14-16 rows of kernels, which have a yellow-orange dent appearance. The 1000-kernel weight varies from 280 to 290 g, and the grain yield reaches 81-82%. The stalk in commercial plantings is red.

The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to lodging, major diseases, and pests, as well as high drought and heat tolerance, making it especially suitable for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine. In addition, DN Stride demonstrates tolerance to herbicide-induced stress and is characterized by high cold resistance and rapid grain moisture release.

The hybrid’s yield potential is confirmed by ecological trials conducted by the Institute of Agriculture of NAAN of Ukraine, where the average yield from 2017 to 2019 ranged from 7.14 to 8.43 t/ha at grain moisture levels from 13.3% to 18.2%. The maximum yield was recorded in 2018 at the Institute of Agriculture of NAAN of Ukraine and reached 12.87 t/ha. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, DN Stride is a reliable choice for effective corn cultivation under various agroclimatic conditions in Ukraine.
