Maize DN Fiesta

A Reliable Choice for Steppe Farming

DN Fiesta is a simple hybrid of corn developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. Created by leading breeders B.V. Dzyubetsky and A.P. Olizko, this hybrid is designed to provide consistent grain yields under the specific environmental challenges of the steppe zone.

Why Choose DN Fiesta

The primary advantage of DN Fiesta lies in its robust genetic resistance. Unlike many imported hybrids that require perfect conditions, this variety shows exceptional tolerance to common pathogens, including loose and boil smut. This genetic protection significantly reduces the need for heavy fungicide applications.

Furthermore, field observations confirm strong tolerance to major pests, specifically the European corn borer and the cotton bollworm. This resilience ensures that farmers can maintain crop quality without excessive reliance on chemical pest control methods.

Yield Potential and Planting Density

With a maturity cycle of 120–140 days, this hybrid is categorized as mid-season, allowing for flexible harvest scheduling. Its dent-type grain is known for efficient moisture release, which is a major benefit for reducing post-harvest drying costs.

• Low density (50–55k plants/ha): Recommended for dryland farming or fields with limited soil fertility.
• High density (80–90k plants/ha): Optimal for intensive farming systems, particularly under irrigation, where the hybrid demonstrates its full yield potential.

DN Fiesta is the go-to solution for farmers who prioritize a balance between the cost of seed stock and reliable performance. It is a workhorse hybrid that rewards consistent agronomic practices and balanced fertilization.
