DMC Galant

DMC Galant — a simple midline hybrid of sweet corn with a grain-use orientation, developed by breeders of the Ukrainian company MAIS. It is intended for agricultural enterprises engaged in crop production located in steppe and forest-steppe zones. The hybrid has high yield potential, reaching 134 centners per hectare in steppe regions and 152 centners per hectare in forest-steppe areas. The FAO index is 250, classifying the hybrid as medium maturity with a vegetative period of 117 days in steppe and 118 days in forest-steppe.

The high grain productivity of DMC Galant is combined with excellent resistance to various adverse factors. The hybrid demonstrates drought and water deficit resistance, accompanied by excessive solar radiation and high temperatures. It is virtually immune to lodging and effectively resists infection by head diseases in blister and dusty forms, as well as other corn diseases. Additionally, the hybrid is insensitive to corn borer and other insect pests, resistant to weeds. It has medium frost resistance, with the optimal temperature range for planting operations from +9°C to +11°C.

Agronomic characteristics of the hybrid include plant height of approximately 250 cm and ear attachment height at 120 cm. Each ear forms 14 to 16 rows of dent-shaped seeds with yellow coloration. Growth dynamics in early stages and moisture release rate during ripening are assessed as average, ensuring stable development and maturation of the crop under recommended climatic conditions.
