Corn Solonyansky 298 SV is a medium-maturing universal hybrid with an FAO index of 310, intended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia. Plants reach a height of 250-260 cm, with ear attachment height of 80-90 cm. The ear has almost cylindrical shape, consists of 16-18 rows of dent-shaped yellow kernels, with 1000-kernel weight of 300-310 g. The hybrid is characterized by low tendency to bushiness and medium ear attachment strength, contributing to resistance against lodging. Solonyansky 298 SV exhibits high resistance to adverse factors: cold tolerance and lodging resistance are rated 9 points, drought and pest resistance — 8.5 points, as well as high resistance to major diseases. These qualities make the hybrid a reliable choice for various agroclimatic conditions. Potential grain yield is 130-135 c/ha (13-13.5 t/ha), and silage yield reaches 600-650 c/ha (60-65 t/ha). Recommended planting density varies by region: for Forest-Steppe — 60-65 thousand plants per hectare, for Steppe — 50-55 thousand, for Polissia — 65-70 thousand plants at harvest time. Due to its agronomic characteristics and high adaptability, hybrid Solonyansky 298 SV is a national standard in Ukraine's variety trials and suitable for both grain and silage uses.
