DN Corund — a mid-early hybrid of sweet corn with FAO 250, developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAN of Ukraine. This simple hybrid is characterized by high potential grain yield, reaching 10-12 tons per hectare, and is intended for cultivation in various climatic zones, including Steppes, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia. The plant is tall, reaching a height of 240-260 cm, with ear attachment at 90-110 cm. The cylindrical ear, 21-22 cm long, contains 16 rows of kernels, with 1000 kernels weighing 300-310 g. The kernels are yellow-yellowish, dent-type, with a yield of about 82-83%.
The hybrid is characterized by high water loss and rapid early vegetative growth, which ensures quick grain drying and contributes to early maturity. It has high resistance to drought and heat, as well as to root and stem lodging, which enhances yield stability under adverse conditions. Moreover, DN Corund is resistant to diseases such as blister and dusty smut, as well as Fusarium mold, reducing risks of losses during storage and transportation.
The recommended seeding rate varies depending on growing conditions: from 45-50 thousand plants per hectare in dry zones to 75-80 thousand under irrigation. Seeds are treated with fungicide and growth stimulator, ensuring high germination and healthy plants. Seed batches are produced in quantities of 80,000 units, which is convenient for planting units. DN Corund is an original hybrid with verified documentation, available directly from the producer.
